Welcome to the Ewing High School Athletic Hall of Fame Website.
The Ewing HoF committee has announced the members of its Class of 2012, which salutes athletes from six decades of Blue Devils sports.
Representing the 1950s will be Dave Dudeck, a 1954 graduate who starred in three sports in Ewing’s first year of varsity competition.
The 1960s will be represented by three of Ewing’s most famous athletes — Rick Jusko (1961), Joe Sgro (1963) and Rick Barrett (1968). Each was a multi-sport star with Sgro excelling in baseball and as a football quarterback after transferring from Trenton Catholic Boys High when it closed in June 1962.
Ishmell McKithen (1972), a track and basketball standout, and Jean Hundley (1973) were selected to represent the 1970s decade, with the 1980s honorees being Kim Welling Messina (1985) and basketball all-star Tom Savage (1986).
The 1990s inductees are Donna Coppola (1991) and Ravi Norman (1992), while representing the 2000 decade are Melanie Rhoden (2000) and state hurdles champ and CVC record-holder Basil Campbell (2003).
The Special Contributor honoree is Nancy Kozics and the team being enshrined is the 1956 baseball team that was the first championship Blue Devils squad.
New committee members who can help with the work are always welcome. $55,000 in scholarship money has been awarded to EHS senior athletes in the past decade at these events.
